Who we are. Lesson Connect is provided by Lesson Connect Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17488220) whose registered office is at 56 School Lane, Hartford, Northwich, CW8 1PQ. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, number ZC279338. Contact: ellis@lessonconnect.co.uk.

If you use Lesson Connect through your organisation

Your organisation decides what is recorded in Lesson Connect and is the controller of that data. We process it on their behalf under a data processing agreement. Questions about it, or requests to see or delete it, should go to your organisation first; we will help them respond.

What we hold: your name, work email, organisation and role; when you sign in and your two-step login settings; the lessons, actions, comments and files you add; and security logs such as IP address and browser.

What we use it for: to run the service, keep it secure, send invitations and reminders, and provide support. We use Microsoft Azure OpenAI to analyse lesson text and write reports. It processes the text only to answer the request and does not use it to train models. Microsoft may keep it for up to 30 days to check for misuse; we have applied to have this switched off.

Where it is kept: in the UK and EU: Microsoft Azure (UK South and Sweden), Supabase (Paris) and Resend (Ireland). See our sub-processors. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

If you contact us or visit this website

When you use our contact form or email us, we use your name, email, organisation and message to reply and to discuss Lesson Connect with you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. Contact-form messages pass through Microsoft Azure in the United States on their way to us; Microsoft is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as giving adequate protection. We keep enquiries for up to two years unless you become a customer. This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep data

Customer data is kept until the organisation deletes it or its subscription ends, then deleted within 60 days, and from backups when they expire.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction, deletion or a copy of your data, ask us to restrict its use, and object to processing. Contact your organisation or us at ellis@lessonconnect.co.uk. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
